DVLA to take over DVAL's NI Personalised Registrations Sales Scheme06-Jun-2014

With Northern Ireland’s DVA services being transferred over to the DVLA, the existing NI Personalised Registration Sales Scheme will managed by the DVLA from 21 July 2014.

The confirmed auction dates for 2014 will remain the same. The merge of the scheme does mean that there will be a change to the registration number assignment rules, and as of 21 July both NI and GB customers will be able to assign any format of registration onto their vehicles from a V750 Certificate of Entitlement.

All of Northern Ireland’s V750s will be replaced with a UK version, and NI customers will be advised to destroy their previous NI V750. For the first time, NI customers will be able to use the facility to retain a registration number on a certificate, while all retention applications must be sent to DVLA Swansea by 14 July 2014.

More information on the merged sales scheme can be found on the DVLA website, where you can also find the forthcoming DVLA auction dates.
